Kevin Isakson extends a sincere thank you to supporters of Tritt Walk.
On behalf of the entire team at Isakson Living, I want to express our warmest thanks to the army of dedicated supporters who have been part of our journey these past two years as we presented Tritt Walk, the proposed senior community in East Cobb.
On March 17, more than 160 friends of Tritt Walk attended the zoning hearing of the Cobb County Board of Commissioners, and showed their support for our proposal in person. Their strong presence, in addition to the voices of the hundreds of supporters who made their wishes known in letters, emails and phone calls to the Board of Commissioners during the past two years, clearly illustrates the community’s desire for thoughtful, well-planned housing options for Cobb County’s aging population.
All of us are sincerely disappointed with the results of the meeting on March 17, where the Board voted to deny Isakson Living’s petition to rezone the Tritt property to build a Continuing Care Retirement Community.
We contend that this decision will seriously affect the entire county in the years to come, especially since the urgent need remains to address residential options for the more than 80,000 Cobb County residents who are currently aged 65 and over – a number that in the next decade will increase by 70% to 130,000 seniors.
The senior population of Cobb County is one of the fastest growing segments in the entire region. Isakson Living is able to provide the well-planned housing solutions that will benefit so many families.
Today – and tomorrow
Isakson Living continues to move forward to plan and build the senior communities that address the specific needs of seniors today – and tomorrow. We will keep you informed of our next steps with Tritt Walk, and encourage you to reach out to us with any questions or concerns you may have at this junction.
Again, thank you for your support of our efforts on behalf of seniors in Cobb County.
With kind regards,
