CBS46 featured members and their families from Pebblebrook at Park Springs, where 98% of the members received the COVID-19 vaccine, in a story about successful vaccine programs helping families to reunite.
“Nothing beats being able to hold her,” Bob Carr said of his visit with his mother, Adrienne Carr. Although he has stayed in touch with Zoom and FaceTime, he shared that nothing beats actual face time and being able to see her in person.
Lionel Forstall had been anticipating seeing Marion, his wife of 65 years, for the last twelve months and acknowledged he had to rely on family to get through not being able to visit through the pandemic. “I just told her ‘I love you, I love you, I love you,'” Lionel Forstall cried as he described the emotional reunion, “Over and over again.”
Park Springs at Pebblebrook Healthcare Administrator Nadia Williams shared that she is grateful so many of their members were able to get vaccinated to make these reunions possible to do safely, noting how difficult it has been during the pandemic when visits were not allowed. Some members who were not doing well had their conditions improve dramatically after compassion visits were arranged. “It makes a difference, it took a toll on everyone,” Williams said.
